DTP 640 REX Dual-Capsule Kick Drum Microphone
Dual-capsule for full-bodied sound
The Lewitt DTP 640 REX Dual-Capsule Kick Drum Microphone is one of the most versatile kick drum microphones available on the market. The DTP 640 REX boasts a dual-capsule design for capturing every nuance of your kick drum. The dual-capsule design is comprised of a dynamic and a condenser capsule focusing on different parts of the kick drum.
The dynamic capsule is designed to capture the kick drum’s attack, providing the punch for the kick. The condenser element is designed to capture the low-end of the kick drum, combining them together to deliver a full-bodied sound. Each of the capsules feature their own dedicated output, should you need to split the recorded tracks.
Three switchable sound modes
Another unique feature of the microphone is the integrated sound modes, which come in the form of a 3-position switch on the front. The three-position switch is accompanied by a three-position pad which allows you to cater to different recording situations and subjects. The Dynamic =//= Condenser captures both elements with a neutral frequency response.
The Dynamic +//= Condenser is designed to boost frequencies between 3 and 5kHz, with the condenser capsule remaining neutral. Dynamic +//+ Condenser includes a special dynamic range for both capsules, ensuring it delivers a full-bodied sound. The pad switch also features three settings of: 0dB, -10dB, -20dB.
